Jspen’s travel blog entry: “Thought that while we were travelling we may as well get as close to the moon as possible….even if it is only someone else`s idea of the moon in a lonely national park a short trip from a tiny dusty little town centered around a dog filled plaza named San Agustin de Fertil. I´m writing this weeks later and so my recollections are slightly contaminated by other rocky formations and other dusty towns in the north of Argentina. The hostel can only be described as ´grainy´. I remember that. The food – well, we ate lots of pizza…and, as always, bread. Argentinian hostels tend to provide free breakfasts – wonderful – but, not so wonderful, we are filling our guts with yeasty stodge. This is further carried along with our cheap lunches which also tend to involve a lot of bread…maybe a little meat or chicken but firstly, a lot of bread. And then there´s the pizza… Dusty little San Agustin de Fertil is close to two national parks – the Valley of the Moon and Talampaya. Both renowned for some pretty amazing rock formations and glowing red canyons. We added to such beauty photos of us doing our own versions of the moon walk. At some stage I will try put them up. The parks are pretty amazing but we had a Spanish speaking guide and although I would like to say I understood …
